Company Information

During the Kamakura period, Kanda-gumi was established as a shrine and temple carpentry company in its current location in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture. Over the past 800 years, we have continued to construct buildings that align with the times while inheriting the traditions as shrine and temple carpenters.

Inheritance of Traditional Techniques: Construction Resume

We have acquired specialized knowledge and skills necessary for shrine and temple construction, including the discernment of materials such as wood, mastery of techniques, and understanding of Shinto rituals. It is our duty to pass on this knowledge and traditional techniques to the next generation.

Construction Services

We engage in a wide range of construction projects, including temple and shrine architecture, custom-built homes, renovation of old traditional houses, as well as modern architecture such as factories, restaurants, and medical facilities. Leveraging the unique knowledge and skills of Miyadaiku (temple and shrine carpenters), we offer architectural proposals and construction services with our expertise.

Miyadaiku, unlike ordinary carpenters, require delicate and highly skilled construction techniques, often differing in building methods and repair approaches. Although these specialized techniques may seem inefficient, they are essential in creating buildings that can maintain both beauty and durability for centuries. Only Miyadaiku possess the ability to construct such structures that can stand the test of time.
